♔: Lolita 52 Challenge: Week #2 :♔

So I decided to draw numbers instead for this. This week I pulled #18 (Trends I thought I would never get into, but I now love). At first I was like "WTF I don't know...". I seriously had to sit and think about this. I came up with at least three things so here we go!

1) Split Wigs

Split Wigs
More specifically the pastel ones. When I first started to buy lolita, I noticed this trend starting. At first it was just the blended wigs and I thought it looked cute but then, the split colors started to emerge. To be honest, I thought it looked really kiddy and I hated it. However as time went on, it grew on me. On daily_lolita I saw quiet a few girls wearing this type of wig and I just fell in love. I think a lot of it has to deal with the coordinate they put together but regardless, I still wanted to give it ago. I soon realized I wanted one really badly. So two Christmases ago my boyfriend bought me my first two wigs; a split pinkxblonde and pinkxlavender twin tail wigs from GLW. I was super happy to get them! I normally wear my pinkxlavender wig with my lavender Jewelry Jelly (I feel it goes the best with that for now until I find more dresses to match it) and my other one matches the rest of my wardrobe. I am now hooked on these and I want more!

2) Circle Lenses

My favorite pair of circle lenses!
I've always wanted to wear contacts but my eyes aren't bad enough to get them. I got over the fact and just wore my glasses. At first when a friend of mine told me about circle lenses I was like "Eh.".  I didn't really care much at first. They seemed kind of expensive and I wasn't sure I could get them in my eye. As fate would have it I got sucked into the fad. My friend started to show me the different colors and then showed me what he looked like wearing them and how it changed how he looked. He is a lolita as well and he always looks so amazing and cute when he wears his outfits. The lenses just enhanced the look . I wanted to be cute too. So after a couple of months I caved in and bought my first pair. It took me awhile to justify it (I got a color that would go with a cosplay I was doing as well.) but I got them. Now I own two pairs and I am currently getting at least two more as soon as I get my paycheck. Its a great investment! It is also versatile enough that I can use it with my everyday outfits and for work.

3) Plushie bags

Plushie bag?! Really now?
I HATED these things. It really reminded me of childhood when I first saw bags like this. I would see girls at my Uni wearing them as a normal backpack or an everyday purse. I honestly did not like it. Then the rave craze started to take off and I saw even more girls using them. I was really frustrated at the trend. About three years now (sadness) I was studying abroad in Japan. On my free weekends, I would take the train down to Harajuku to go window shopping. Every single time I went I would see a few Japanese lolitas wearing these plushie bags. Then it kind of hit me; this is rather cute. At first I was kind of disgusted at myself that I would fall for something like this but your taste in things change right? When I came back from Japan I found myself wanting a plushie bag. I have yet to actually own one (or make one for that matter). I have to find the right dress to create a coordinate for me to even think of making/buying one. So maybe one day I can have my own plushie bag...
